I'm a Homeschooler

We've been homeschooling our children since the day they were born. I have a 9yos who is doing mostly 4th grade work, but reads on a 7-8th grade level. I also have a 6yos; he's just starting kindergarten work and is doing some 1st grade work, as well. It is my intention to homeschool through high school.

Are there any other homeschoolers on the forum?

I couldn't do it! Good for you, but that almost calls for a forum just for Homeschoolers... (which for school purposes, there are probably websites for)

Does that (homeschooling) affect your marriage, do you think, in ways that your friends who DON'T homeschool aren't affected ?

Yes, I would like to hear more about how homeschooling affects marriage and family. I have thought about it for some time now.
I would see a lot of good points to it. As in being able to take family vacations any time of the year. Being able to be more flexible in some family routines.

I homeschooled our daughter for a year but now she's in public school. We really loved homeshooling and if there was a more active homeschooler group in our area we would have continued. She's an only child so our main problem was finding fellow homeschoolers she could socialize with.

I think that there are alot of great benifits to homeschooling. I don't homeschool my sons but where I live we have a great school system. But if I ever had to for some reason I think it is a great option to have.

I have never home schooled my children, but have thought about it. I have five children and four of them are in school, grades 8th, 7th, 6th, and 2nd. My children are having problems with students and some of the teachers. I have two children who are ADHD, (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). And another thing is I am single, with no husband. I used to tutor college students and I know I have what it takes, but who is going to work and bring the money in? But home schooling is a great choice and it is good for those who can do it.
